Dashboard View

The Dashboard View provides a high-level overview of all your projects and tasks. At a glance you can monitor key performance indicators, track progress across multiple projects, and jump straight into the work that matters most.

Overview

  • Project Cards — visual summaries of every project, including task counts, progress, overdue alerts, effort, and cost.
  • KPI Metrics — real-time, clickable counters for task status, priority, due dates, effort, and budget.
  • Show All Projects — view tasks from every project aggregated into a single dashboard.
  • Real-Time Updates — the dashboard refreshes automatically whenever task data changes in any view.

Project Cards

Each project is represented by a card. Clicking a project name in the card header navigates directly to its Grid View.

Card Anatomy

  • Project Header — project name, creation date, and last-updated timestamp.
  • Task KPI Grid — Total Tasks, Completed, In Progress, and Blocked counts. Each card is clickable and opens a filtered task modal.
  • Completion Progress Bar — a visual meter of completed vs. total tasks with a percentage label.
  • Alert Cards — Overdue, Due Today, Due This Week, and Critical Priority. Each opens a filtered task list when clicked.
  • Stats Cards — High Priority, Has Dependencies, and Not Started. Also clickable.
  • Effort Summary — appears when tasks have effort data. Shows Total Effort, Effort Done, Effort Left, and average % Complete with a progress bar.
  • Budget & Cost Card — appears when a project budget is configured. Shows Budget, Estimated cost, Actual cost, Remaining, and an over-budget task count. Includes a "View Cost Report" button with a tabbed breakdown by bucket, status, and priority.

KPI Metrics

Every KPI card on the dashboard is interactive. Clicking a card opens a modal listing the exact tasks that contribute to that number, with inline checkboxes so you can complete tasks without leaving the dashboard.

  • Task Counts — Total, Completed, In Progress, Blocked, Not Started.
  • Due Dates — Overdue, Due Today, Due This Week.
  • Priority — Critical Priority and High Priority counts (incomplete tasks only).
  • Effort — Total Effort, Effort Completed, Effort Remaining, and average % Complete (shown only when effort data exists).
  • Cost — Budget, Estimated, Actual, Remaining, and Over-Budget task count (shown only when a project budget is configured in Settings).

Note

KPI values update in real time. Completing a task in any view is reflected on the dashboard instantly.

View Multiple Projects

By default the dashboard shows a project card for each project in your workspace, scrollable on the same page. All projects are visible simultaneously — no toggle needed.

Tip

The dashboard is especially useful during stand-ups or weekly reviews: scroll through all project cards to get a cross-project health summary without switching views.

Real-Time Updates

The Dashboard View subscribes to the TaskStore event system. Whenever a task is created, edited, completed, or deleted in any view, the dashboard automatically recalculates every metric and re-renders affected project cards — no manual refresh required.
